When I ask someone
to make art
These are some of the automatic reactions I get;
"I'm not an artist".
"I never did art".
"Whenever I draw anything it turns out ugly."
"art is for kids".....
And more of the same self categorizing & restricting implications..
And this is where I feel empowered,
because I know something was taken away from everyone when kindergarden years of play become school,
when it was time to get serious.
Serious is not a bad thing, but loosing your childlike essence of joy, Discovery and wonder is..
I never stopped..Being a child..
I never stopped dreaming..
I never stopped pushing my creativity
and play.
I was always an artist.
I did many other things.
I was an architect,
a theatre costume & scenery designer,
.. And then I was a teacher..
The intensity of working with kids, just at that time when they start school, Just at the last phase of the pandemic....
It was a wakeup call..
Not to be a professional teacher..
but to become a certified art therapist..
I had an immediate connection with these kids, I had a window to their beings and I resonated with their growing souls..
the school system was new to me, but it felt natural right away.
although slightly lost..but mostly with a lot of power of changing the way these kids thought about themselves..
They had two rules; they can never say their creative outcome is ugly!!
& A white paper was unacceptable.
These were the only things I was strict about.
So I went and studied art therapy, I had to be sure that this is the next stepping stone..
And it was..
I managed to really focus on what I want.
I managed to find balance.
I managed to change things.
I managed to fulfill a dream or two.
I managed to grow and evolve.
I managed to remember who I am.
I managed to put the noises at bay..
AND I managed to help others do it too.
I hope you enjoy my art,
I hope it gives brightness and joy to your space and your loved ones.
I HOPE YOU ALWAYS THINK THE BEST THINGS ABOUT YOURSELF.
Thank you
Pazit
